Works Secretary Reviews Matiapada ROB Progress, Urges Timely Completion Ahead of Puri Rath Yatra

Puri, May 30: With the renowned Rath Yatra festival approaching, the Works Department Secretary Sanjay Kumar Singh inspected the Matiapada Road Over Bridge (ROB) construction site in Puri to evaluate the project’s progress. During his visit, Singh examined pending tasks and key construction activities, emphasizing the need to accelerate the launching of the bow-string girder and the casting of the bridge deck slab.

He instructed the executing agency to ensure strict compliance with safety measures and quality standards throughout the project. Singh also highlighted the importance of deploying sufficient manpower, machinery, and resources, while maintaining close coordination with the department to meet the scheduled completion timeline.

The EPC contracting agency’s Chairman reported that the bow-string girder launching is expected to be finished by June 15, with the deck slab casting targeted for completion by June 20. Once completed, the Matiapada ROB will enhance traffic flow, reduce travel time, and improve connectivity in the area, contributing to better transport infrastructure and traffic management.

Several senior officials, including Chief Engineer Narayan Patel and Superintending Engineers Pupun Kumar Pradhan and Soumya Ranjan Dwibedi, accompanied the Secretary and provided updates on the project’s status. Further official details on the progress and completion are awaited.
